Extended Copy Protection on the initial US edition

In November 2005 Sony was distributing albums with Extended Copy Protection, a feature that automatically installed rootkit software on any Microsoft Windows machine upon insertion of the disc. In addition to preventing the CDs contents from being copied, it also exposed the computer to malicious attacks that exploited insecure features of the rootkit software. Just the initial US edition of the album (US Catalog-Nr. EK93515) shipped the rootkit and was recalled by Sony on November 18 of 2005 after the details of the copy protection had been unveiled in the press. Editions from other parts of the world and later US editions of the album had not shipped the malicious software from the beginning.[2] Since the copy protection is mentioned on the CD jewel case and the back of the CD itself, everybody can check if their US edition is affected or not.[3]

Bonus DVD

Several versions of the album were accompanied by a DVD, in which the band discussed their break-up and why they got back together.

The DVD includes several 'easter eggs' such as a studio rehearsal of 'Junk Sick' and backstage footage.
