Boubakary Soumaré

Boubakary Soumaré (born 27 February 1999) is a French professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Ligue 1 club Lille. Internationally, he has represented at France at youth levels France U16 through France U21.

Professional career

A promising box-to-box midfielder he has drawn comparison to Paul Pogba due to his physical, but with a real sense of technical ability. Soumaré was part of the Paris Saint-Germain Academy from 2011 to 2017, moving to Lille OSC for first-team opportunities. Soumaré made his professional debut for Lille in a 3–0 Ligue 1 win over FC Metz on 5 November 2017.[1]

International career

Soumaré was born in France and is of Senegalese descent.[2] He is a youth international for France at various levels.[3]
