Belarusian Federation of Air Sports

The Вelarusian Federation of Air Sports (BFAS; Belarusian: Беларуская федэрацыя авіяцыйнага спорту) is a non-profit organization and a member of the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (FAI).[1] As of 14 May 2018 BFAS has 265 individual members.[2]

The Вelarusian Federation of Air Sports is the national governing and coordinating body of air sport and recreational flying. Goals of the BFAS are, among others: a propagation and development of the aviation in Belarus, an organization of air sports and air recreation, a representation of Belarusian air sports abroad, a training of aviators.

The BFAS is involved with the development of aviation initiatives in Belarus and is the issuer of FAI sporting licences in Belarus. It represents Belarusian interests in aviation at the FAI’s Annual General Conference.

The Вelarusian Federation of Air Sports organized the 2018 World Helicopter Championship held from 23 to 29 July 2018 near Minsk, Belarus. [3] The BFAS also organized the first Belarusian round-the-world flight from 18 August to 15 September 2018.
