Basti Maluk

Basti Malook (Urdu: بستی ملوک‎) is a town in the Multan District, Punjab, Pakistan. Basti Malook, its localities and subtowns comprise a population of around 20,000. It is located at 29°51′16″N 71°32′11″E and an altitude of 119 meters.[4]

Basti Malook is a town situated 35 km in south of Multan. Duniya Pur is located to its east. There's Shuja Abad to its west, well known for its mangoes. In its south there is another population named Makhdoom Aali. This place is known for its Halwa, the most popular being Munawar ka Sohan Halwa.

History

At the time of partition, this was agricultural land. Few Rajput families migrated and settled here. Some effective person of these families were Rana rehmat ali (رانا رحمت علی), Rana Noor Muhammad(رانا نورمحمد), Rana abdul hameed (ex-chairman) uc basti malook,Rao abdul aziz (راؤ عبدالعزیز).Rana Sajjad Hussain s/o Haji Rana Pathana.Rana Sardar Muhammad Otyra Khalipha Of Peer Tajan Sher Basti Malsook, Rana Muhammad Aslam, Rana Ghulam Mustafa Otyra, Rana Muhammad Azam Otyra, Rana Muhammad Zulfiqar Otyra are the wellknown persons of Basti Malook there were only 20 to 30 houses in that area but later on, other nations came and settled here.

After few years this area came to be known as malook basti, named after haji malook khan marral, but later on its name changed from malook basti to Basti malook.

Business centre

This area was totally agricultural before 2010 but since then it has gain business popularity in a short time. Now it is one of the business platforms for the businessmen. Now it is totally commercial area. The main cause of its popularity is that this town is situated at the multan lodhran highway. It also connects 4 main cities (multan, lodhran, shujabad and Dunya pur). So it is center of these great cities.

Oldest bank in this region is united bank limited(UBL) which is serving from many years. Later other banks established in this area are ZTBL(زرعی ترقیاتی بینک), Bank al habib (بینک الحبیب), HBL, Askari bank limited, Ubank limited and NRSP bank.
