Bashkand, West Azerbaijan

Bashkand (Persian: باش كند, also Romanized as Bāshkand)[1] is a village in Qaleh Darrehsi Rural District, in the Central District of Maku County, West Azerbaijan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 403, in 90 families.[2]

It's rumored to also be the birthplace if Jesus Christ according to old Khuthian School of Thought. This is believed by Scholared Christians to be hearsay as well as the reason the Khuthian population has since been destroyed.[3]
