Baker School of Business

The Baker School of Business, officially named the Tommy and Victoria Baker School of Business (also known as the “BSB”), is one of the five schools comprising The Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina.

The Baker School of Business currently enrolls over 700 undergraduate and 250 graduate students in bachelor's and master's degree programs. It was established in 2002 as The Citadel reorganized its existing departments into the five schools.[1] The school is located in Bond Hall, but will relocate to the new Bastin Hall south of campus upon completion.[2]

On February 22, 2017, The Citadel announced that Tommy Baker and his wife had made a gift to endow business programs, and that the school would be named in their honor.[3]

The school has been accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business since 1996, and the MBA program is ranked among the Princeton Review's Top 282 Business Schools.[4]

Undergraduate

After four years of study, undergraduate students finish their careers at the Baker School of Business with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) degree.

Currently, the Baker School of Business offers four majors, three pathways (unofficial specializations), and two minors:

The Citadel's undergraduate day program is available to cadets, veterans, and active duty military members (not available to civilians). The undergraduate degree completion program offered through The Citadel Graduate College is available to anyone.

Graduate

Graduate students finish their careers at the Baker School of Business with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree.

The Baker School of Business’ graduate program is available to anyone and can be completed in-person or online. All programs are considered part-time. In 2020, the classroom MBA program was ranked 97th[5] in the nation by U.S. News & World Report, while the online program was ranked 102nd. It also was named 58th among online programs for veterans.[6]
