Production
In August 2017, it was announced Justin Simien would direct, write, and produce the film, with Oren Moverman serving as an executive producer under his Sight Unseen banner.[3]
Release
It had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival on January 23, 2020.[4] Shortly after, Hulu acquired distribution rights to the film.[5]
Reception
On Rotten Tomatoes the film has an approval rating of 54% based on reviews from 26 critics.[6]
