History

General view

Ayb School is the pillar of Ayb Learning Hub. Ayb School has the status of foundation and its official name is Ayb Learning Hub Foundation. The School is governed by the Board of Trustees;.

Covering the area of 7000m², Ayb Elementary, Middle and High Schools offer modern educational technologies, laboratories and comfortable rooms. The architectural design of the whole educational campus has been already developed by Storaket Studio.

In the near future, the complex will also have its own sports complex, art centre, media centre and the Church of the Holy Translators.

Mission and Motto

Ayb School's mission is to bring up generations of literate and honest young people, who are proud of their background and have a strong sense of responsibility.

Ayb School’s motto is Comprehend and Create (Sci et crea):

The Ayb School philosophy is reflected in "Ima and Ara", the school’s motto, which means "Comprehend and Create" in Classical Armenian (Grabar). These two principles are deeply interwoven, thus, there is no comprehension without action, nor is there action without acquisition of knowledge.

Academic Program

Ayb School offers an academic program that is called Araratian Baccalaureate (AB).

In 2014, Ayb Educational Foundation, in cooperation with Cambridge Assessment International Education and Institute of Education (IoE) at University College London (UCL), embarked on an extensive journey to create an Armenian-language but at the same time internationally competitive educational program.

Program partners with the UCL Institute of Education & Cambridge Assessment International Education.

Project-Based Learning

The Project-Based Learning (PBL) is one of the distinguishing features of the Araratian Baccalaureate syllabus. It is an innovative educational model, which stems from "learning by doing" principle adopted by Ayb School in 2015. The PBL builds the learning process around projects.

This educational model enables students to set up teams and carry out large-scale and long-term projects to address actual community issues and challenges.

Scholarship system

Ayb High school is the first social project in Armenia’s non-governmental sector, which adopted a flexible scholarship system to curtail the talented children’s dependence on the parents’ financial possibilities and to grant all youngsters an equal opportunity to get a good education.

About 75% of Ayb High School students receive scholarships (tuition fee reimbursement) every year.
