Playing career

Hunter joined Northern Premier League side Ilkeston after being released by Burton Albion in summer 2014. After starring for Ilkeston's academy side, he made an immediate impact in the first team, scoring twice in his first start for the club.[4] He was signed by League One side Fleetwood Town for a "sizeable fee" in January 2015.[5]

In January 2020, Fleetwood manager Joey Barton reported that he was due to go out on loan to Salford City after an agreement was made between the clubs.[6] The move was confirmed by Salford City.[7][8]
