Artúr Sebestyén

Artúr Sebestyén (18 January 1868 – 28 November 1945) was a Hungarian Jewish architect.

Life

He studied at the Budapest University of Technology, then worked with Alajos Hauszmann and then with Ödön Lechner. Together with the latter, he developed the plans of the Kecskemét State Mental Hospital. His most significant work is the Gellért Bath and Hotel building (in the company of architects Izidor Sterk and Ármin Hegedűs). He designed many palaces and summer houses in the capital, and public cinemas in Odessa, Sofia and Rusechuk in the countryside.
