Ariake Arena

The Ariake Arena is a multi-sport venue located in Ariake, Tokyo, Japan.[1] It will serve as one of the venues for the 2020 Summer Olympics. The Ariake Arena will host the volleyball competitions and wheelchair basketball games 2020 Summer Paralympics.[2]

History

The Ariake Arena was one of the six permanent facilities designed to be built in the district of Ariake in order to host the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Its construction began in January 2017 and is expected to be completed in December 2019. The total cost of the project is around 35 billion yen (about $320 million) and will have the capacity 12,000 spectators.[3]
