Appa 2

Appa 2 (transl. Father 2) is an upcoming Indian Tamil-language independent social drama film written and directed by Samuthirakani and is produced jointly by Samuthirakani and Sasikumar. The film is a sequel to the 2016 film Appa and the fourth installment in the Saattai franchise. The film features Samuthirakani and Thambi Ramaiah, with Namo Narayanan, Vignesh and Nasath in supporting roles; most of the cast members are retained in the sequel.[1] The music will be composed by Ilaiyaraaja, who was also composer for the prequel. The film began production in late June 2018.

The sequel to the film was announced by director Samuthirakani through his official Twitter account on 18 June 2018 on the eve of the Father's Day.[2][3] The shooting and production of the film commenced from late June 2018. He offered to shoot for the film while he was busy with his pending works including Aan Devathai and Naadodigal 2.[4]
