Answers to Nothing

Answers to Nothing, released 22 August 1988, is the second solo album by former Ultravox frontman Midge Ure. It was the first release by Ure following the demise of Ultravox. As a solo artist, Ure only hit the singles chart once in America with the single 'Dear God'. It reached #6 on the US Billboard Mainstream Rock chart and at #4 on the US Billboard Alternative Music chart in 1989.[2][3] Midge filmed the promo-video to "Dear God" in Los Angeles. The track "Sister and Brother" was a duet with Kate Bush.[4] The track "Homeland" is written about Phil Lynnot.

Midge said about the album: "I didn't actually mean to write a reflective record. In fact, when I started writing I had no idea what was going to come out. But things have changed so much for me in the last three or four years. There are a lot of things I worry about, things that affect me more now that I have a family."[5]
