Andy Greer

Andy Greer (born August 6, 1962) is an American basketball coach, formerly an assistant for the Minnesota Timberwolves of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was in charge of their defense. He was the head coach of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy from 1993-97 and served as interim head coach for the Northern Illinois University men's basketball team during the second half of the 2000–01 season.

Coaching career

On June 29, 2015, he was hired to serve as an assistant coach by the Toronto Raptors.[1] He joined the Minnesota Timberwolves as an assistant coach in 2016 and on January 6, 2019, he was relieved of his duties together with the head coach Tom Thibodeau[2]

Personal life

Greer has a younger brother, Larry, who previously worked with the Minnesota Timberwolves as a scout and assistant coach; he is currently an assistant coach for the Phoenix Suns.[3]
