Anare Jale

Anare Jale (born 1949 or 1950) is a Fijian politician and member of the Parliament of Fiji. He is vice-president of the Social Democratic Liberal Party.

Jale worked as a diplomat and civil servant, serving as Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Labour,[1] Fijian Ambassador to the United States[2][3] and then Chief Executive Officer of the Public Service Commission (PSC) from May 2005 to 7 December 2006. He was dismissed from office by the military junta after the 2006 Fijian coup d'état.[4] Relations between Jale and the Military Commander, Commodore Frank Bainimarama, had long been strained.

He was selected as a SODELPA candidate in the 2014 elections,[5] but was disqualified as a candidate under the Political Parties Decree for non-residency.[6] He stood in the 2018 elections and was elected to parliament,[7] winning 4,287 votes.
