Ali Aguilar

Alison "Ali" Paige Aguilar (born August 28, 1995[2]) is an American, former collegiate All-American, left-handed hitting softball player at shortstop originally from Orangevale, California. She completed her college career for the Washington Huskies from 2014-17 where she was named three-time First Team All-Pac-12 and a National Fastpitch Coaches Association Second and Third Team All-American in her last two years.[4][5] She was drafted 13th overall in the National Pro Fastpitch and won a Cowles Cup Championship with the Scrap Yard Dawgs in 2017.[6] She also played professionally in Japan before being named to the 2020 Summer Olympics USA Softball Team.[7]

Early life

Aguilar was born in Roseville, California[8] to parents Mark and Kristin Aguilar. She graduated from Casa Roble High School in Orangevale, California in 2013 with a 3.8 GPA and with four letters in softball.

Washington Huskies

Aguilar signed to play college softball at the University of Washington. Aguilar came to Washington as a slap hitter, but Husky coach, Heather Tarr, decided that she should swing away. Aguilar made this transition, and became one of the best power hitters in the country, hitting 21 Home Runs in her Junior season (2016).[9]

International career

Aguilar was selected to represent the United States at the 2016 Women's Softball World Championship, where the team won the gold medal.[10] Aguilar hit .273 in the tournament with a Home Run and 5 RBIs.[11]
