Akın Akınözü

Akın Akınözü was born in Ankara, Turkey, in 1990 and is the only child of actress Özlem Akınözü and restaurant owner Tamer Akınözü. His maternal grandfather was one of the first TV presenters on TRT (Turkish Radio and Television); and his great-uncle is known as “The Father of Turkish Documentaries.”

Akınözü attended Ankara TED high school, studied mathematics at the University of Berkley, USA, where he lived for around 6 years before deciding to become an actor. [3]

Akınözü's performance as Miran in Hercai has earned him awards such as: “Best Actor in a Dramatic Series” (24th Golden Lens Awards of the Magazine Journalists Association 2019), and “Best Series TV Couple,” which he shares with Hercai co-star Ebru Sahin (Ayaklı Gazete Ödülleri journalists 2020) [4]. He was also awarded the Spanish television station Nova Atresmedia’s Premio Nova Mas’s Best Male Actor in 2019 and Mister Nova 2019 [5].

After attending UC Berkeley as an applied mathematics major, Akinozu followed into his mother's footsteps and started acting at the age of 23. Akınözü has appeared in several series including as the lead role as Miran in Hercai.

Akınözü is fluent in English, a pescatarian, an avid sportsman with a particular fondness for boxing. He's been in a long-term relationship with Sandra Pestemalciyan and has a dog named Archie.
