AirX Charter

AirX Charter is a Maltese based private charter airline, it holds a European air operator's certificate (AOC) in Malta [2] and operates a fleet of 23 aircraft. AirX partners with a local operator in the United States who manages two Citation X’s. The Head Office is located in Malta, with other offices in London, Germany and the USA.

A subsidiary, AirX Charter (Germany), operates with a German AOC [3]and is based at Egelsbach.

AirX Jet Support is based in Luton Airport, Stansted Airport and Malta[4] and has two Part-145 Certificate of Maintenance[5] issued by EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency), and maintains both the AirX fleet and 3rd party aircraft.

AirX has completed a number of Wet Lease or ACMI contracts for a number of clients on their Boeing 737 fleet, as well as some long term government contracts on their large business jet fleet.[6] [7]

History

AirX Charter was formed in 2011 when the assets of an Austrian airline AirX were bought by John Matthews. In 2013 it moved its headquarters to Malta and the fleet was expanded to meet the requirements of executive customers. In 2012 the first Bombardier Challenger 850 arrives, followed by Cessna Citation X's in 2013, Boeing 737 Classics in 2015, and the Airbus A340-300 entering the fleet in 2017, followed by the first Lineage 1000 in December 2018 The fleet now stands at 23 aircraft across 6 different aircraft types.
