Aham Sharma

Aham Sharma (born 22 July 1989) is an Indian film television actor. He is from Salimpur, Bihar, India.[2] His film, 1962 My Country Land, premiered at Marche du Film of the 69th Cannes Film Festival.[3] He is best known for his role as Karna in Mahabharat and as Emperor Vikramaditya in Vikram Betaal Ki Rahasya Gatha.

He is also a master in various forms of martial arts particularly Taekwondo.[4][5]

Career

Aham Sharma began his acting career by starring in a television series named Chand Ke Paar Chalo aired on NDTV Imagine channel. He played the central role of Rehan, a young man of aristocratic lineage, set in Lucknow. Rehan was separated from his family as a child due to his father's death which made him resent his mother deeply.[6] He then played the role of Nirbhay Pundir, a supporting role in the television serial Bairi Piya on Colors TV, 2010. In the same year, he did a cameo in Kaali- Ek Agnipariksha where he played the role of a strong and aspiring politician.[7] Then he played a negative role in the serial SuperCops vs Supervillains in one episode aired on May 25, 2013, in the role of a scientist - Dr. Ajay/Vidyut - The Flash Man, a villain with superpowers.[8]

Sharma joined the cast of Zee TV's series Ek Nayi Chhoti Si Zindagi, on the lives of two orphan sisters, Isha and Ira. He played the role of Shravan.[9][10]

In 2009, Sharma did his first film Blue Oranges by a debutant director, Rajesh Ganguly. He played the role of the painter named Kevin Travasso alongside veteran actor Rajit Kapoor. He also worked in other films like Yeh Jo Mohabbat Hai (2012) and Karle Pyaar Karle (2014).

Sharma rose to prominence by his performances in the TV series Aasman Se Aage (2012) and later in the mythological television series Mahabharat where he played the roles of Angad and Karna respectively. He also made it into the TV Actors: Fuze TV Personality Of The Year Male Poll and came 4th. As Angad his dancing skill was appreciated by the audience.[11] For his portrayal of the warrior Karna, he earned Indian Telly Award for Best Supporting Actor. The Times of India reported in 2014 that the show has a huge fan following abroad and as result, the prominent characters from the show had been called to Indonesia for a special event.[12] Sharma, together with fellow cast members of Mahabharat, performed on Mahabharat Show: Fan Meeting Tour in the year 2014.[13][14][15][16][17][18][19]

Early in 2015, he was finalized as the lead to do a new television show named Dosti... Yaariyan... Manmarziyan produced by Siddharth Kumar Tewary for Star Plus.[20] He played the role of Arjun Mehra the protagonist with a hidden motif. His role has various shades where he constantly strives between the good and the bad in him.[21] Aham as Arjun again stole the hearts of the viewers which his outstanding performance and immense dedication.[22][23]

In the period drama film about the Indo-China War, 1962 My Country Land, he played an Army Lance Naik who is given the responsibility for mapping, along the Indo-China border.[24]

In 2016, he played the lead role of Rishabh Shrivastav in Zee TV's show Brahmarakshas opposite Krystle D'Souza.[25][26][27] Currently, he is see in the role of legendary king Vikramaditya in &Tv's Vikram Betaal Ki Rehasya Gatha.[28]

In 2014, Sharma made his way to the 11th edition of 50 Sexiest Asian Men in The World by the British weekly newspaper Eastern Eye with his 26th position.[29]
