AfroBasket 2017 qualification

AfroBasket 2017 Qualification will occur on various dates on 2017. It will determine which African national basketball teams will qualify for the 2017 FIBA Africa Championship. Teams will compete with other teams in their respective "zones" for a spot in the Championship tournament.[1][2]

Qualified Teams

Two teams qualified for the tournament before the qualification round will take place. Fourteen more teams will claim spots in the tournament through Zonal Qualifying.

Wildcard

FIBA Africa's Executive Committee on Tuesday, 18th April awarded the two wild cards for FIBA AfroBasket 2017 to Guinea and Rwanda.[3]

Qualifying tournament

Chad, the Central African Republic and Zimbabwe will face off in Bamako, Mali from 19-21 May, with the winner of this additional qualifier filling the void left by the Republic of Congo.[4]
