It is the oldest Catholic college-preparatory school for girls in Connecticut.[6] In August 2011, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places by the Connecticut Historic Preservation Council.[7][8]

Inspired by the Mercy Tradition, Lauralton Hall's mission is to empower young women to pursue their highest potential through lifelong learning, compassionate service, and responsible leadership in a global society.

The school's 30-acre campus is located a block from the Metro-North Railroad's Milford station.[2]

Students attend Lauralton Hall from nearly 40 cities and towns.[2]
