Abdul Rahman Oues

Abdul Rahman Oues (Greek: Αμπντούλ Ραχμάν Ουές; born 14 June 1998), known also as Abdul Rahman Weiss, is a Greek-born Syrian professional footballer who plays as a right-back for Platanias and the Greece U21 national team.

Club career

Youth years

A right back, Oues began his career in the academy at Panathinaikos and spent the 2014–15 and 2015–16 seasons with Brentford Griffins,[3] a youth team of English club Brentford.[4][5] He won two National League U19 Alliance titles with the team.[6][7]

Platanias

In 2015, Oues returned to Greece to join the academy at Platanias and progressed to sign a professional contract in February 2017.[3] He was an unused substitute during a late-2016–17 season Super League match and broke into the team during the 2017–18 season, making 17 appearances.[1] Oues made 29 appearances and scored one goal during the 2018–19 season and was a part of the team which reached the Football League promotion playoffs.[1][8] He was nominated for the Best Young Player award at the 2018–19 Football League Awards.[9]

OFI

On 8 January 2020, it was announced that Oues had signed a pre-contract to join Super League club OFI on 1 July 2020.[10]

International career

Oues made his debut for the Greece U21 team in a 4–3 friendly victory over Slovakia on 22 March 2019.[11]

Personal life

Oues is of Syrian descent.[2] In August 2019, he began his military service.[12]
