"Aankh Maarey" is a Hindi song, originally from the 1996 Indian film Tere Mere Sapne. It was originally composed by Viju Shah, and sung by Kumar Sanu and Kavita Krishnamurthy. The original music video from the film was picturized on actor Arshad Warsi and actress Simran.[1][2]

The Tere Mere Sapne soundtrack album was released by T-Series. It sold 2.2 million units in India, making it the sixth best-selling Bollywood soundtrack of 1996.[3]

"Aankh Maarey" is a Hindi song sung by Neha Kakkar, Mika Singh and Kumar Sanu.[4][5][6][7][8][9] The song was recreated for the 2018 film Simmba by Tanishk Bagchi. The music video is mainly picturized on the film's leading stars Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan, and features several cameo appearances, including Arshad Warsi (with Kumar Sanu's voice) who starred in the original 1996 music video from Tere Mere Sapne.[1][2]

Reception

The song became a major hit, with video going viral within hours of its release on YouTube by T-Series. It has received total of over 1 billion views on YouTube.[10][11][12] 6 December 2018 to 5 December 2019 It is the first Indian song to cross the 1.4 billion views milestone on YouTube.
