AIR Manjeri FM

AIR Manjeri FM 102.7 (Malayalam: ആകാശവാണി മഞ്ചേരി എഫ്.എം 102.7) is an FM local radio station located in Manjeri, operated by All India Radio. It broadcasts programs varying from news to entertainment and its broadcast area covers the Malappuram district, major parts of Kozhikode, Wayanad, Palakkad, some areas of Thrissur and the Nilgiris district of Tamil Nadu.[3] According to the statistics of All India Radio, there are approximately 80 lakh listeners.[4]

History

It was inaugurated on 28.1.2006 by former Minister of State for External Affairs, E. Ahammed.[5] [6][7].First Transmission Executive Mathew Joseph, First announcer R.Kanakambaran.

Broadcast timings

This local radio station (LRS) broadcasts programmes from 5.53 a.m to 11.06 p.m, without break, from 2.6.2019.It's the only non-entertainment channel of All India Radio in Kerala having seamless transmission. Morning transmission was commenced on 26.1.2017.[8][9]
