8th Engineer Brigade (United Kingdom)

8 Engineer Brigade is a formation of the British Army under 1st (United Kingdom) Division that has control over most Royal Engineers units.

History

The brigade was formed at Upavon in 2005 and, under the Army 2020 reorganisation, moved to Gibraltar Barracks at Minley in 2014.[2][3] 25th Close Support Engineer Group subsequently moved from 8th Engineer Brigade to 3rd UK Division.[4] The Brigade has been also regionally aligned with the South Asian region as part of defence engagement.[5]
