2023 Cricket World Cup Qualification

A series of cricket competitions will determine which countries will take part in the 2023 Cricket World Cup. In total, 32 countries are taking part in the qualification process, from which 10 will qualify for the World Cup.

As with the previous edition, the tournament will feature ten teams. The main route for qualification will be the 2020–22 ICC Cricket World Cup Super League tournament. The top seven sides from this tournament plus the hosts (India) from the thirteen competitors in the Super League will qualify automatically. The remaining five teams, along with five Associate sides, will play in the 2022 Cricket World Cup Qualifier, from which two teams will go through to the final tournament.[1][2]

Cricket World Cup Qualifier

The 2022 Cricket World Cup Qualifier will feature ten teams in total: the bottom five teams from the 2020–22 ICC Cricket World Cup Super League not including World Cup hosts India; the top three teams from the 2019–22 ICC Cricket World Cup League 2, and the top two teams from the 2022 ICC Cricket World Cup Play-Off. The top two teams from this tournament will qualify to complete in the World Cup.

Cricket World Cup Play-Off

Six teams will take part in the 2022 ICC Cricket World Cup Play-off: the bottom four teams from the 2019–22 ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 along with the top teams in Groups A and B of the 2019–21 ICC Cricket World Cup Challenge League. The top two teams from this tournament will progress to the 2022 Cricket World Cup Qualifier.
