2017 Spring European League of Legends Championship Series

The 2017 Spring European League of Legends Championship Series split (2017 Spring EU LCS) is the fifth season and ninth split of the European League of Legends Championship Series, (EU LCS) the highest level of professional League of Legends play in Europe. It was won by G2 Esports, with a roster of Expect, Trick, PerkZ, Zven, and Mithy and was their third EU LCS Champions title. Most games were being played at Studio K/L in Adlershof, Berlin, Germany. The finals were held at the Barclaycard Arena in Hamburg, Germany.[4]

Format

  • Two groups of five teams each:
    • The top two teams are placed in separate groups according to the 2016 EU LCS Season Championship Points.
    • The remaining 8 teams are distributed to the groups via snake draft.
  • Each team plays 13 matches:
    • A Double Round Robin within their own group.
    • A Single Round Robin against the other group.
    • Each match is a best of 3.
  • The top 3 from each group qualifies to the playoffs.
  • The two group winners receive playoff byes into the semifinals.
  • The two fifth-place teams play in the 2017 EU LCS Summer Promotion tournament.

Summer Promotion Tournament

In the 2017 EU LCS Summer Promotion Tournament, four teams competed in a double elimination bracket. The two winners of qualifying round matches advanced to the Summer Season. Teams eliminated from the bracket qualify for the EUCS Summer Season.

      • The team that won the head-to-head during the 2017 EU LCS Spring Season will select their opponent from the two Challenger Series teams

  • Teams that don't qualify for the LCS are seeded back into the 2017 EU EUCS Summer Season
