Fordham welcomed their first class of scholarship players since the school flirted with elevating to the I-AA level in the late 1970s. They were however made ineligible for the Patriot League championship because the other league members did not use scholarship players.

They finished the season 5–6 and 3–3 in Patriot League games although those contests did officially not count in the league standings.
