2009 Galway United F.C. season

2009 Galway United F.C. season. This is a list of competitive matches played by Galway United in the 2009 League of Ireland Premier Division season. Following the departure of Jeff Kenna to St Patrick's Athletic on 14 January 2009, Ian Foster was promoted from his role as assistant manager, signing a two-year contract to take over the reins at the club. Foster succeeded in helping the club avoid the relegation play-offs in 2009, albeit due to Derry City's expulsion from the League of Ireland Premier Division.[1][2]
