1978 FIFA World Cup qualification – UEFA Group 9

Group 9 consisted of three of the 32 teams entered into the European zone:[1] Greece, Hungary, and Soviet Union. These three teams competed on a home-and-away basis for two of the 8,5 spots in the final tournament allocated to the European zone, with the group's winner claiming those spots.
