r/AskHistorians is a subreddit on Reddit where users may ask questions or start discussions about history,[1] and is "one of the largest history forums on the internet".[2] It was founded in 2011 and has remained highly active ever since, having over 700,000 subscribers.[3] Unlike other Reddit communities, it aims to "provide serious, academic-level answers to questions about history" and is strictly moderated. The community has a strict moderation policy towards Holocaust deniers, in comparison with the more lax policies of Facebook.[2]
