Zara Noor Abbas (born on 13 March 1990)[1], also known by her married name Zara Noor Siddiqui is a Pakistani actress and model.[1][3][4] Abbas is mostly known for her role as Arsala in drama serial Khamoshi (2017). She has acted in serials Dharkan (2016) and Lamhay (2018).[2][5] She will also be seen in upcoming film Parey Hut Luv.[6]

Career

Debut

Her acting debut was in the Fahim Burney's directed Dharkan (2016) where she played the lead character of Areen opposite Adeel Chaudhary and Ghana Ali. About her television debut, she said "If it hadn’t been for Fahim Burney I would have never been a part of the drama industry". He is a star maker, she further said.[7] The series also receive mixed reviews from critics. Shahbano Yousuf of Daily Times stated, "We see this drama as a great blend of our culture, its norms and value mixed with fantastical romance".[7]

Establishing with Khamoshi (2017-Present)

In 2017 she was appeared in another project with lead role as Arsala in critically acclaimed series Khamoshi opposite Bilal Khan and Iqra Aziz.[1] Upon release, Khamoshi has become one the most watched drama series of 2017 and also nominated for Best Drama Serial category at annual Hum Awards.[8] Her on-screen chemistry with Bilal Khan was praised and series proves to be the breakthrough for her. Ahmed Sarym of The Express Tribune praised her saying, "Within a short span of time, she’s not only been able to mark a niche but also impress both commercially and critically alike".[5]

Besides television Abbas was signed to her first film, Parey Hut Luv, directed by Asim Raza and starring Mahira Khan and Shehryar Munawar Siddiqui.[9] The film is slated to release in 2019[10] Abbas said in an interview that she was pleased to work with her fellow cast members in her debut film. Abbas further said that though she did she not have a lead role, her character is important to the film.[6] She will also be part of upcoming Wajahat Rauf's venture Karachi Se Lahore 3 which will be the third installment in Karachi Lahore (film series). She will be seen with her husband Asad Siddiqui in the project.[11]

Currently Abbas is playing the role of Aleena in Lamhay. Its her third appearance in Momina Duraid's production after Dharkan and Khamoshi.[12]

Personal life

She is the niece of notable actress Bushra Ansari and daughter of Asma Abbas.[5][1] In 2017 she married to fellow actor Asad Siddiqui with whom she was engaged earlier, the marriage ceremony was held in Karachi, Pakistan.[13][14][2]
