Zakiyya Hakki

Zakiyya Hakki was the first female judge in the Middle-East,[1] appointed by the leftist-nationalist Iraqi government of Abd al-Karim Qasim. She later became the only woman in the leadership of the Kurdistan Democratic Party.[2]

In 2003 she was living in exile in Virginia in the United States.[3]
