Zachary Oliver Brewer aka Zac Brewer (born as Heather Brewer, September 21, 1973) is an American writer of young adult fiction, living in Missouri with his husband and two children.[3][4] His debut series, The Chronicles of Vladimir Tod, was published by Dutton Juvenile.[5] He goes by Z among his fans and social media followers.[6]
Personal life
Brewer had a history of struggling with anxiety, depression, and suicidal urges, which lead to discovering his need to transition in 2015. Brewer had stated that he knew he was transgender nine years prior, but was unable to truly be himself. After many years of therapy, he finally announced his transition to his fans, many of which announced their support. Brewer stated, "I don't worry about losing my Minions. We are a special band of misfits and they have been accepting and supportive all along."[7]
