Yushan Island

Yushan island (Chinese: 渔山列岛)[1] is in Xiangshan Shipu of Zhejiang Province. It is the most southeast island in Xiangshan. It is an island located 27 miles from Shipu (石浦),[2][3] near Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province, Eastern China. It is known as "The first fishing area in Asia". There are unique reef and crystal clear seawater. It is located in the north and south ocean current intersection belt. There are rich fish, shellfish and algae resources, in total more than 300 types.

Xiangshan(象山), facing the southeast direction and continue to sail about 25 miles, the most southeast of islands is there. It is the line basis points of China’s territorial waters. Yushan Island has two parts, north and south. The north part is the largest, with a total land area of 2.3 square kilometers. There are three islands called North Yushan, South Yushan (北渔山,南渔山) and the Five Tiger Yushan Reef (五虎礁).

Nature

In 2008, Yushan Islands were registered as a national marine sanctuary to contain rich local marine ecosystem, and were also designed as agricultural grounds to promote natural resources including by artificial reefs.[4] The seawater is so clear that the visibility is more than 10 meters. Today 300 to 400 people live there because of the large number of freshwater resources.
