The company is headquartered in Canary Wharf, London.

History

Early beginnings

YourParkingSpace was launched in 2006 by Charles Cridland[4]. In 2013, the company moved to Level39, Canary Wharf, London[5]

In January 2015, YourParkingSpace took its first £1 in revenue and claimed that by the end of 2016 they would be making more than £5.8 million for landlords.[5]

Investment and Partnership with Harrison Woods.

Harrison Woods featured on Dragon’s Den in 2012 with his original parking space startup, Primal Parking. Woods’ pitch was to link homeowners who had unused parking spaces to drivers looking for bays, which earned him an investment from Peter Jones and Theo Paphitis.[6]

Woods went on to sell Primal Parking before purchasing a stake in YourParkingSpace[7], becoming partners with founder Charles Cridland in December 2013[4]

YourParkingSpace later raised investment from Town Centre Securities, who owned a 15% stake in the company as of December 2017[8].

Service Overview

YourParkingSpace can be accessed via its website and mobile applications for iOS and Android[9]. It is free for drivers and space owners to register and create an account. The online platform brokers hourly and daily parking reservations, as well as monthly parking on a subscription basis. Drivers are able to book parking instantly, manage their bookings and leave reviews about parking spaces to help other drivers make informed decisions.

YourParkingSpace operates a customer support line which is open 7 days a week.

Space owners receive bookings at prices of their own choice, based on the availability they set in the online calendar. They are able to manage their listings and bookings via the website. Space owners receive payment for earnings on the first business day of each month[10].

YourParkingSpace does not own any of the parking spaces or real estate listed on the platform. The company receives a service fee paid by the driver, which is calculated as a percentage of the parking price set by the space owner. This is automatically included in the total booking fee.[11]

Partnership with Parkhound

In January 2015, YourParkingSpace partnered with Australian car parking marketplace, Parkhound[12]
