"You Want It Darker" is a single by Canadian poet and musician Leonard Cohen, released on September 21, 2016.[1] The song is the title track from Cohen's album You Want It Darker.[2] It earned the artist a Grammy Award for Best Rock Performance.[3] The song featured Cantor Gideon Zelermeyer and the choir of Congregation Shaar Hashomayim.

Appearance in other media

The song was used in the cinematic trailer for the 2017 video game Assassin's Creed Origins. It also appeared in the closing scenes of Season 3 Episode 3 of the Showtime TV series "Billions", in Season 1 Episode 4 of the Amazon Original TV Show, "Tin Star", and in Season 3 Episode 5 of "Peaky Blinders". It is also the theme music for BBC series "Black Earth Rising" by Hugo Blick.
