You Should Have Left is a 2017 novel by German writer Daniel Kehlmann.[1][2] It concerns a screenwriter attempting to write a sequel, Besties 2, to follow his earlier success, Besties.[3]

The book is being adapted into a movie by American actor Kevin Bacon for production company Blumhouse.[4]
