Yeh Aag Kab Bujhegi is a 1991 Indian film directed by Sunil Dutt. The movie stars Rekha.

Earlier Rekha's role was offered to Dimple Kapadia but then she was replaced .It was the last movie produced by Ajanta arts .

Plot

The movie begins with a play where Prof.Krishnanand is giving a social message against dowry .He is a well aware man and very strong person .He heads the department of sociology in his college.He is living a happy life with his only daughter Pooja and his mother .Radha is a professor of law and colleague of Prof .Krishna and she admires him in his crusade against dowry. Radha's marriage is fixed with Ranvir, who is a lawyer .But on the day of her marriage,Ranvir's father demands dowry which was not accepted by Radha and she cancels the marriage . Radha's father commits suicide after this humiliation.However Radha got moral support from prof. Krishna and establish a woman cell which works for dowry victims and succeeds to seek justice for her father and herself.

Soon after all these incidents Pooja's marriage was also fixed with Mohan but Mohan's mother is not happy as she did not get anything as dowry.Mohan and his evil brother in law makes various plans and forced Pooja to ask for money from her father Prof.Krishna. However on the day of Karwa Chauth the truth is revealed in front of Pooja and also she comes to know that her husband and his family wants to kill prof. Krishna for his property.In order to save himself Mohan kills Pooja with the help of his family and the news is spread that Pooja 's death was an accident.Prof.Krishna made an unsuccessful attempt to seek justice for his daughter but due to lack of evidences Mohan was released free from the case.

Heartbroken and shattered Prof. Krishna decided to take revenge for his daughter .on the night of Diwali prof. Krishna records the confession of Mohan and his family .When the truth of Pooja's death is revealed to him prof.krishna kills Mohan and Roshan Lal for what they did to Pooja. In courtroom Prof.krishna stops judge Ranvir from passing his judgement and accepts that he kills Mohan and Roshan Lal to avenge his daughter who was brutally killed by them and reveals that investigating officer was also bribed by them .Judge orders to reopen Pooja's murder case and culprits are sent to judicial custody.Finally judge accepts that the law needs to be improved in order protect the daughters from being dowry victims.In the climax Prof. Krishna got arrested and people are shown to be supporting him.
