Yarm railway station serves the town of Yarm in the borough of Stockton-on-Tees and ceremonial county of North Yorkshire, England.

The station is 8.5 miles (14 km) south west of Middlesbrough on the North TransPennine Express Line and is operated by TransPennine Express.

The station re-opened in February 1996,[1] replacing a former station further north that had closed in 1960 and is situated about a mile (1.6 km) south of the town's High Street. The old station building can still be seen, just north of the substantial brick viaduct that carries the line above the town.[2]

Facilities

It is unstaffed but a self-service ticket machine is provided to allow intending passengers to buy tickets before boarding or collect advance purchase/pre-paid tickets. There are standard waiting shelters, customer help points, timetable posters and digital CIS displays on each on each platform and a large (currently free) car park. Automated train announcements are also provided here. Step-free access to each side is available via ramps from the main road bridge at the north end.[3]

Services

Monday to Saturdays there is generally an hourly service north to Middlesbrough and southbound towards York, Leeds and Manchester Airport.[4]

Sundays, there is generally a two-hourly service in each direction.

All services that serve Yarm are operated by TransPennine Express.
