YMCA University of Science and Technology (YMCA UST) is a state university located in Faridabad, in the state of Haryana, India. The YMCA University of Science and Technology, erstwhile YMCA Institute of Engineering, was established in the year 1969, as a joint venture of the National Council of YMCAs of India, Govt of Haryana, and the Central Agencies for Development Aid, Bonn, Germany. It started as an Indo-German project with an aim to impart technical education to a developing India on German pattern. The labs & workshops have been setup with the assistance of German expertise. In 1996, State Govt. of Haryana took complete control of the Institute and upgraded it to University status in December 2009.
National Assessment and Accreditation Council, an autonomous body funded by the UGC, has accredited the University with `A Grade`.
History
YMCA UST was established in 1969 as an indo-German project, a joint venture of the National Council of YMCA India, the Government of Haryana and the Central Agencies for Development Aid, Bonn, Germany. In December 2009 it was awarded the status of state university by the state government, thus making it an autonomous institution.
Campus
The campus of the YMCA University of Science and Technology is located in the sprawling Faridabad-Ballabgarh Industrial complex, on NH-2 about 30 miles from the Indian capital New Delhi. The nearest metro station (on about a walking distance of five minutes) is Escorts Mujesar on the Violet Line of DMRC. The Escorts Mujesar - Ballabhgarh stretch of Violet Line will open by the end of 2018.
The Campus has three main buildings, one for MBA and the remaining two for other degree courses. There is a canteen, an eco-café, a stationery shop and a Mother Dairy open during university hours. For the students into sports, there is a Basketball Court, a Badminton Court, a Football/Cricket ground, Archery Area. Free Dispensary is also there which opens during university hours.
Academics
YMCA University is considered as the top engineering university in the state of Haryana.It holds the seven Undergraduate B.Tech courses in the following Engineering fields :
- Computer Engineering
- Information Technology
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Electronics and Communication Engineering
- Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering
- Civil Engineering
Admission to the above courses of the university is strictly provided, based on the ranks of the candidates in the Joint Entrance Examination.
It also offers two year Master of Technology (M.Tech) [1] and Master of Business Administration (MBA) courses. Admission is preferably through the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Common Admission Test (CAT) and Common Management Admission Test (CMAT), but first class engineering graduates are also considered.[2]

There are various cultural as well as technical clubs/societies of which the students can be a part of. The cultural clubs in YMCA are :

YMCA University holds several annual festivals. 'ELEMENTS CULMYCA' is the annual cultural festival, which takes place in mid March where young students from all over India showcase their talents.[3] KHOJ, the annual technical festival, involves students from technical institutions from the country.CONCOURSE is the annual sports meet.
