Xylopia africana is a species of plant in the Annonaceae family. It is found in Cameroon, Nigeria, and São Tomé Island as well as the island of Bioko in Equatorial Guinea. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and subtropical or tropical moist montane forests. It is threatened by habitat loss.
Description
Its tree can grow up to 12 m tall.[2]
Areas where the plants are founded includes Obudu in southeastern Nigeria, Cameroon including Bali Ngemba Forest Reserve (Northwest Region) and number of sites in southwestern Cameroon including Mounts Cameroon, Bakossi and Rumpi and also Fossimondi.
