Alexandre 'Xande' Nascimento Costa Silva (born 16 March 1997) is a Portuguese footballer who plays for West Ham United as a forward.
Club career
Silva played for Vitória Guimarães and its B team between 2014 and 2018. He made 26 appearances in the Primeira Liga, scoring his only goal for the first team against Rio Ave on 7 December 2015.[1]
He joined West Ham United for an undisclosed fee on 2 August 2018.[2] He signed a three-year contract and was recruited initially for the Hammers' under-23 team. He scored a hat-trick on his Premier League 2 debut, against Tottenham Hotspur, on 13 August.[3][4]
International career
Silva has been a youth international for Portugal at every level between under-15 and under-20. He was part of the squad that reached the semi-finals of the 2014 UEFA European Under-17 Championship and was named in the Team of the Tournament.[5] Two years later, he played in the team that reached the semi-finals of the 2016 UEFA European Under-19 Championship.[6] He then played in the 2017 FIFA U20 World Cup and scored in the quarter-final against Uruguay.[3][7]
