Wolves and Sheep (Russian: Волки и овцы) is a comedy in five acts play by Alexander Ostrovsky.[1] The play was written in 1875. Published in the journal Otechestvennye Zapiski, №11, 1875. For the first time staged in St. Petersburg, December 8, 1875 in Alexandrinsky Theatre. December 26 the same year the premiere in Moscow, Maly Theatre.[2]

Plot

The action comedy takes place in a small provincial Russian city in the 1870s.[3]
