William Wodehouse

William Wodehouse (possibly 1706 - 13 May 1737) was a British Member of Parliament.

Life

He was the eldest son of Sir John Wodehouse, 4th Baronet, whose name was sent to the Old Pretender in as a leading Jacobite in 1721. This made William the elder brother of Sir Armine Wodehouse, also an MP. He attended Caius College, Cambridge and married Frances Bathurst, daughter of Allen Bathurst, 1st Earl Bathurst. He won a close contest for Norfolk in 1734, the year he was also returned for Cirencester by his wife's father. He chose the former, but died of smallpox only four years later, in London.[1]
