William Levitan

William Levitan is professor of Classics at Grand Valley State University in Michigan.[1] He received his Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin.[1] He was one of the founding members of the Classics department at Grand Valley and the first department chair.[2] He is best known for his translation of the correspondence between Abelard and Héloïse which was published in 2007 to scholarly acclaim.[3] He received the Rome Prize in 1988 from the American Academy in Rome.[4]
