Sir William Carpenter Rowe (c.1801 - 9 January 1860) was the tenth Chief Justice of Ceylon.
He was knighted in January, 1856 [1] The following February he was appointed Chief Justice of Ceylon to succeed William Ogle Carr.[1] He held the post until 1859 when he was succeeded in turn by Edward Shepherd Creasy.[2][3]
While resident in Ceylon he was elected the fourth President of the Ceylon Branch of the Royal Asiatic Society, serving from 1859 to 1860.[4]
He was married to Frances Elizabeth (nėe Storey) and lived whilst in Ceylon at The Lodge, Kandy, where they had one child. He died in 1860 and was buried at All Saints Church, Galle Fort, Ceylon, where his tombstone gives his death of death as 9 November 1859 and his age as 58.[5][6]
