Wiley Sword

Wiley Sword (1937–2015)[1] was an American historian and writer who specialized in American Civil War historiography.

Career

He graduated from the University of Michigan.[1]

He was famous for having collected one of the most extensive private collections of Civil War memorabilia. In 2015, his collection of more than one thousand soldiers’ letters and other items was acquired by the Pamplin Historical Park and National Museum of the Civil War Soldier in Petersburg, Virginia.[1]
