The Wildlife Justice Commission is an international non-governmental organization, with its headquarters in The Hague, the Netherlands. The organization was registered at Kamer van Koophandel as a charitable foundation under Dutch Law, on March 4, 2015. [1] Their work focuses on conducting intelligence-led investigations into criminal networks illegal trading in wildlife and wildlife products of endangered species, based on CITES (the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora).The gathered evidence is put into a case file. Their investigations are reviewed by members of an independent panel consisting of international lawyers, judges, law enforcement experts and journalists.
Achievements
Viet Nam investigation In 2016 Wildlife Justice Commission delivered a case file consisting of intelligence into illegal trade in wildlife and wildlife products to Viet Nam (January 2016)[2] and China (February 2016)[3]. In November 2016 a Public Hearing was held on this case[4][5] Al Jazeera English also reported on this case. [6].
