White Panda is an American DJ, best known for remixing and releasing mashups.[1][2]
Career
White Panda, originally a duo, began mixing songs and adapted to the "throwback-meets-modern" image.[3]
In 2014, White Panda released a mashup consisting of Disclosure's and Sam Smith's "Latch" and Mike Posner's "Cooler than Me", titled "Cooler than Latch". It was first included in White Panda's mix album Bearly Legal (2013)[4] and was eventually released as a single.[5] The duo released their album titled The Pawprint, in 2015.[6]
In May 2017, they released a remix of FRND's song "Be Happy", which consists of 'harmonic bass' and vocal chops.[7] A month later, they made a mashup of five songs that are "Blood on the Dance Floor", "Dangerous", "This Place Hotel", "Leave Me Alone" and "Is It Scary". It was given the title "Blood on the Dance Floor X Dangerous" and included on Michael Jackson's posthumous 2017 compilation album Scream, as a bonus track. The mashup has charted on Billboard's Dance Club Songs chart at 47th in the second week of February 2018.[8][9][10]
In September 2017, the duo remixed Ember Island's cover of the Rihanna single "Umbrella".[11]
On June 18, 2018, it was announced on their Facebook page that the White Panda had become a solo act.[12]
